Acting Director of Religious Education

Responsibilities:

Direct and administer the children and youth religious education program for the 50 registered children and youth of First Jefferson Unitarian Universalist Church, in cooperation with the Children and Youth Religious Education Council. Continue quality religious education programming for children and youth, supporting the congregation’s effort in full integration of children and youth in services and further development of religious education.

Skills needed:

Knowledge of and enthusiasm for Unitarian Universalist curricula and religious education philosophy; ease in relating to a wide variety of religious views; ability to recruit and work with volunteers, ability to find resources within the church; ease at networking and teamwork, excellent communication skills, independence, initiative, ability to encourage others, enjoy working with children.

d. Administration and Operations

Hours in Units: Nine units weekly, including Sunday morning. (3/4 time)

Salary Range: $22,575 to $23,850 plus benefits and professional expenses

Deadline: July 14, 2010

Contract Dates: October 1, 2010 - August 14, 2012
